Thankful
My wife is passed out on the couch. Our dog, Troy, is asleep next to our son who is jumping like crazy on his bouncer. Bruce, our cat, is taking a nap on the computer chair. Frank Sinatra on Pandora. And every single one of us are full as can be!
This is our second Thanksgiving as a family, but our first with our son. My father/in/law came and spent his day with us. Kayla cooked a feast that was great! I was the only one that had pumpkin pie though. Neither of them are a fan of, which is fine by me because I get to eat it all! After dinner, we sat down and exchanged stories. Stories about everything. Our past. Our mistakes. And how it all shaped us to who we are today. We both talked about our fathers. We talked about unconditional love. You name it, we pretty much hit everything.
Which made me realize how thankful I am to be where I am today. Yeah, somethings could of gone differently, but honestly, I am happy to be where I am. I’ve been blessed. Just the first paragraph alone makes me the happiest person alive. I have a wonderful and beautiful wife. My son, who is my world, is healthy and handsome (and won’t stop eating). I have 2 pets that I have a love/hate relationship with. Just kidding. They are great. Bruce has never hurt our son, and Troy is very protective of Edwin too.
I’m thankful of my mom. She is the greatest. There is none like her.
I’m thankful for the job I have. It helps me to fully provide for my family.
I’m thankful my family. We are all very close and yet have many miles between us. I wouldn’t change anything about…well…maybe something a little here and a little there, but come on, it’s family!
I’m thankful for amazing grace. I’m not perfect, but I’m trying. Boy am I trying.
I’m thankful for my friends that I am surrounded by. The ones in Texas and the ones here close to me.
I’m thankful for the amazing gift of music I have been blessed with. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have that.
I could go on and on. But I think that is enough to share.
Here is my family, who I am very thankful for!
