Dream Theater “A Dramatic Turn of Events” album review
I would like to start this off by saying that my review of this record is not based on Mike Portnoy no longer being in the band. Dream Theater has been my favorite band since SFAM back in my high school years. I went into this record with fresh ears and a fresh heart.
Farewell to Goodbye (for now)
6 years ago, this month, I packed up everything I owned and stuffed it into a 97 Mustang. I left a small TX town called Lufkin and moved to Nashville, TN. I still don’t know how everything fit in the car. It was a tight fit for sure.
I remember a small voice telling me, “I’m not promising that you are going to make it, but I promise you, that whatever you go through, that I will take care of you.” (Keep that in your mind as you are reading this)
Google Guitar and iPad Band
I love Google. That’s all I have to say.
They had a guitar that you could play at their home page today. You could record it and send it to friend. Some people played The Beatles “Black Bird” and another The Star Spangled Banner. I decided to get the iPad out and ask the band to play along with me.

Drum Videos You Might Have Missed
This isn’t on my YouTube because it was kicked off. So, I went to Vimeo
Dream Theater – 1928 Drum Cover from Edwin Rivera on Vimeo.
When I taught drums in high school, I had some of my kids learn this song! Travis might be one of the best things that ever happened to drums in the punk rock scene.
Burnin’ Up is one of my favorite JBros song, so my brother and I decided to do a dual drum cover!
These are our out-takes from Burning’ Up
